As I previously wrote on my other blog, foreclosures and short sales have their headaches. The question is: Are they worth it?
Some foreclosure and short sales homes are a good value… and many are not. For many buyers, the best value may be achieved simply by negotiating with real human being-type sellers versus with a bank. At a certain price foreclosures are a good deal but they also come with inherently more risk and a large majority of them have been abused and/or neglected. Consequently for any buyer who’s out there looking for a “deal” should not be looking solely at foreclosures or short sales.
