Some clients are tougher than others

Today I was fortunate enough to get a seller of mine closed that I had been working with for a year.  Luckily I had teamed up with a favorite peer of mine on the listing so her and I tag-teamed on the different aspects of the pre-listing, listing, contract negotiations and closing.  It was probably the most difficult client to get closed… not because the clients were bad… actually they are very good people.  The reason it was so tough is the situation they were in and the difficulty of their daily lives.

My peer and I both were emotionally exhausted from the last 12 months with this client and when we see the paycheck we’re splitting we’ll cringe to think what we made per hour on this deal, but we felt really good to be able to get it put together.  The sellers needed our help and could have been taken advantage of by others.  I think it was very good for them that we were there to hold their hand through the entire process.

So my wallet may be only slightly fatter, but my spirit is lifted… today was the completion of a good deed long in the making.
