Ramsey, MN is a 4th ring suburb to the northwest of Minneapolis.  Progress and nature are two forces that are often at odds. As the city has grown, so have the employment opportunities. Ramsey, where the median age is 34.1, experienced 24.06 percent job growth from 2000 to 2010.

Despite this rapid growth, maintaining green space has been a priority. Nearly 15 percent of the city — which borders both the Rum and Mississippi rivers — is wetlands. There are also more than 500 acres of parks maintained within the city limits.

These open spaces have helped maintain the air quality in the city, which is located on the northwest edge of the Twin Cities. The air quality index—measured in the number of days ranked as “good”— is 82.0 percent in Ramsey.

Highway 169 and State Highway 47 both run through Ramsey, so residents still have easy access to the rest of the Twin Cities, despite their relatively remote location.

Education also remains a priority. In 2011, Ramsey test scores were 11.7 percent higher than the state average in reading and 12.2 percent higher in math in 2011, according to Money Magazine.
