One thing to stay for is the wide array of recreational opportunities. In addition to a community center that boasts a 50-meter indoor pool and a 150-foot water slide, the city is also home to Centerbrook Golf Course, a nine-hole par-3 course. The city also has 522 acres of parks and nature areas, as well as a 20-mile trail system that extends to all neighboring communities.

Adjacent to the northwest corner of Minneapolis in Hennepin County, Brooklyn Center lies along the west bank of the Mississippi River. It is conveniently located along I-694, the northern passageway through the Twin Cities.

The river, and its North Mississippi Regional Park, is also a great place to relax and take in the scenery. If sitting still isn’t for you, the Mississippi River Trail — popular with cyclists of all ages — also runs through the city.

After a moderate population decline in the 1970s and ’80s, Brooklyn Center has bounced back over the last two decades, and today sees its population back over 30,000.

According to census data, the median income for a household in the city was $44,570, and the median income for a family was $52,006 in 2000.
