Eden Prairie also has 17 lakes, which offer swimming, boating and fishing opportunities in the summer and opportunities for skating or ice fishing in the winter.

Eden Prairie’s schools are also among the best in the state. Test scores in reading were 41.5 percent higher than the state average in 2010 and test scores in math were 31.7 percent higher than than the state average. Sports fans will also appreciate that Eden Prairie is home to Winter Park, the Minnesota Vikings training facility.

Eden Prairie is located within 12 miles of the Mall of America, 15 miles from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and less than 20 miles from downtown Minneapolis.
