A wide variety of recreational opportunities are available within its borders. There’s Brightwood Hills Golf Course, a nine-hole par 30 executive course. For children, there’s the Eagles Nest Indoor Playground, which offers a ball pit, triple slide and eight-foot climbing wall and other kid-friendly attractions. The city also maintains a number of parks, and either contains or borders numerous lakes.
Education is another plus in New Brighton. Test scores were 10.2 percent higher than the state average in reading and slightly higher (2.5 percent) than the state average in math in 2011, according to Money Magazine.
The air quality index—measured in the number of days ranked as “good”— is 84.0 percent, and the median age is 40.2.
