No less an authority than Money Magazine has called Shoreview a great place to live.
Every few years the magazine ranks America’s best small towns, based on a range of criteria, and in 2011 — the last time they ranked cities with populations under 60,000 — Shoreview was No. 52 in the nation and fifth-best in the state.

Shoreview has a lot going for it, beyond being centrally located.  Shoreview schools are second to none. In 2010, test scores for its students were 25.8 percent higher than the state average in reading and 31.0 percent higher in math, according to Money Magazine.

The city is home to 11 large parks, including a skate park, Rice Creek Fields athletic complex, and is one of three Minnesota communities to have been recognized as bicycle-friendly communities. The air quality index—measured in the number of days ranked as “good”— is 84.0 percent.
