Woodbury is home to 45 parks and a combined 3,000 acres of dedicated parkland, and more than 100 miles of multi-use trails. The jewel of the city’s athletic facilities is the Bielenberg Sports Center, which includes softball, baseball, soccer, football fields and sand volleyball courts, as well as an ice arena and soccer dome. Two golf courses — Prestwick (private) and Eagle Valley (public) — also lie within Woodbury’s borders.

Woodbury was No. 13 on Money Magazine’s list of America’s best small cities in 2010 (the last year cities that size were ranked). And as of March 2011, unemployment in Woodbury was 5.5 percent, nearly two full points lower than the state average.

Based on 2009 data, Woodbury’s test scores were 39.6 percent higher than the state average in reading and 40.2 percent above the state average in math. The city is served by two high schools and two middle schools, as well as a half-dozen elementary schools.

Located just east of St. Paul, Woodbury is approximately 25 minutes from downtown Minneapolis, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of America.
